Vision of PMRF

The Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF) Scheme provides an opportunity for PhD scholars candidate to do research in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine. It is the Scheme that has been designed for improving the quality of research in various higher educational institutions in the country.

The Prime Minister's Research Fellows (PMRF) Scheme has been designed for improving the quality of research in various higher educational institutions in the country. With attractive fellowships, the scheme seeks to attract the best talent into research thereby realizing the vision of development through innovation. The scheme was announced in the Budget 2018-19. The institutes which can offer PMRF include all the IITs, all the IISERs, the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru and some of the top Central Universities and NITs that offer science (technology) degrees. The candidates will be selected through a rigorous selection process and their performance will be reviewed suitably through a national convention.  Srishti Earth & Environmental Science The research aims to investigate the electroactive nitrate-reducing microorganisms and their extracellular electron transfer processes from an extreme environment, namely, Lonar Lake, which is a highly saline and alkaline habitat. The study will broaden the field of Electromicrobiology, which is not only essential to understand the role of electroactive microorganisms in the biogeochemical cycling of major elements, but also offers several opportunities to develop novel microbial electrochemistry-driven biotechnological applications, and might have implications to Astrobiology.  Rohtash Earth and Environmental Sciences The Himalayas, also known as the Water Tower, are a high mountain terrain with a complex interaction between atmosphere and topography. The complexity of the terrain and the high meteorological diversity make this region the most attractive to the research communities. Due to warming world, the changes in atmospheric conditions over the Himalayas cause in extreme precipitation events, flash floods, cloud bursts, river flooding, and landslides.
