Research Area:  Economic Geology, Granite metallogeny, Crustal fluids, Fluid inclusions

Research Focus

Our research activities focus on exploring the physico-chemical signals for metal (Au, Cu, W, Sn etc.) fertility through various stages of granite evolution, and to tie-up these records with crustal evolution. The main thrust is on addressing the factors that promote metal endowment through the course of melt extraction, its evolution and subsequent hydrothermal degassing of magma. We commonly employ techniques such as, but not limited to, petrological phase equilibria modelling, mineral chemical analysis, fluid inclusion heating-freezing experiments and stable isotope measurements.
