Research Focus

My research has focused on applications of homotopical algebra to algebraic geometry. In recent years, I have worked in motivic homotopy theory, which attempts to adapt the methods of algebraic topology to algebraic geometry. Here, homotopies are defined in terms of the affine line instead of the unit interval. My work focuses on the A^1-connectedness of schemes.
