Abstract: Food is crucial for survival, yet optimal dietary resources are rarely assured, especially with climate change and habitat degradation leading to dietary mismatches. Understanding the effects of these shifts on organisms and their adaptation is complex due to unclear links between diet and organismal performance. Our lab addresses this by merging computational modeling with empirical studies. In this talk, I will highlight some of our findings, including the impact of diet on reproductive outcomes and the stabilization of metapopulation dynamics, influenced by environmental and intrinsic factors. Our findings demonstrate the intricate impacts of dietary environments on organisms and populations, offering a nuanced dietary perspective in improving public health and conservation efforts.
