Holistic Analysis of Lake Ecosystems: Integrating Heavy Metal Analysis, Paleoclimatology and Geochemistry
Dr. Pranaya Diwate
Location : Online
Abstract: The research endeavors to conduct a comprehensive examination of lake ecosystems, combining contemporary environmental insights through heavy metal analysis with the historical perspectives derived from paleoclimatology. The study aims to elucidate the intricate relationships between heavy metal concentrations in present-day lake environments and the climatic influences shaping their long-term dynamics. The heavy metal analysis will focus on assessing the current ecological health of lakes and scrutinizing the concentrations of metals such as lead, mercury, and cadmium. Concurrently, paleoclimatological data will be employed to unravel the historical climate patterns and their impact on lake systems. By integrating these diverse methodologies, the research seeks to uncover the synergies and dependencies between anthropogenic influences, contemporary environmental factors, and historical climatic variations. Concurrently, the application of remote sensing techniques will be incorporated to enhance our understanding of lake dynamics. Remote sensing facilitates the monitoring of water quality, detecting changes in lake parameters, and providing a broader spatial context. This integration of multiple approaches ensures a more robust and nuanced understanding of lake ecosystems, contributing not only to environmental science but also offering practical applications for water resource management and conservation efforts. The findings promise to inform sustainable practices by leveraging technological advancements to monitor and safeguard our invaluable freshwater resources.
