Abstract: I will outline some progress towards understanding nonperturbative effects in supersymmetric gauge theories, two-dimensional conformal field theories, and the relations between the two. After a brief introduction, I will focus on explaining various new exact results and motivating future lines of inquiry that stem naturally from these considerations.
