From Flask to Algorithm: A Tale of Organic Chemistry and Machine Learning in Research
Dr. Vaneet Saini (Faculty Candidate), Department of Chemistry, Panjab University
Location : Online
Abstract: This presentation offers an insightful exploration of my dynamic research trajectory, seamlessly navigating between the realms of organic synthesis and the integration of machine learning methodologies. Commencing with my Ph.D. research, I will showcase the ingenuity and advancements achieved in developing novel methodologies for organic compound synthesis.
As a Faculty at Panjab University, while remaining deeply rooted in the traditional domain of organic chemistry, I embraced the opportunities presented by computational chemistry and machine learning. The talk will illustrate how, rather than a complete transition, there has been a harmonious integration of both disciplines. By leveraging computational tools, I extended my research spectrum to include predictive chemistry, enhancing our ability to understand and anticipate chemical properties.
