Abstract: With the advent of mod p and p-adic analogues of local Langlands conjectures, it has become imperative to study representations of p-adic groups over fields (or even rings) other than the field of complex numbers. In this talk, I will give an overview of my work on locally analytic/algebraic representations of p-adic groups and smooth representations in characteristic p.
