International Workshop: Knots, Braids and Topology

IISER Mohali and IIT Ropar jointly organized the International Workshop "Knots, Braids and Topology" during October 24-26, 2014. The workshop was held at IISER Mohali. The aim of the workshop was to bring together Indian mathematicians working in various aspects of knot theory, braid groups, homotopy theory, and other related areas of topology. The meeting provided up to date information of current themes of research in these areas. The highlight of the meeting was survey talks by keynote speakers from Japan and Russia. Some short communications by younger participants were also included. This Workshop was part of the Bilateral Joint Research Projects, "Knot invariants and geometric manifolds" and "Knots, Braids and Automorphism Groups" supported by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) and Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR)".
