IISER Mohali Events Archive - 2007-08

 

  The Earth-breaking ceremony for IISER boundary wall was held on 29th December 2008. The Ceremony was performed by Prof. N. Sathyamurthy, Director IISER. Students, Faculty and other staff members participated in it

Launch of INSPIRE and Presentation of INSPIRE Scholarship function was organized at Delhi on 13th December 2008 by Government of India, Ministry of Science and Technology. IISER Mohali's five scholars got awards from Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh.

  The Foundation Day 2008 was celebrated on 27th September 2008. Prof. N. Sathyamurthy, Director IISER Mohali has given the welcome address which was followed by the Lecture on Foundation Day by Dr. Girish Sahni, Director IMTECH. In the end vote of thanks was given by Dr. Arvind Dean(R & D) IISER Mohali.
A symposium to felicitate prof. R. P. Bambah a well known mathematician and the oldest living fellow of Indian National Science Academy was jointly organized by INSA and IISER Mohali on August 16th 2008.
  Independence Day was celebrated on August 15 2008 at IISER Mohali. The Chief Guest for the function was Prof. S. C. Laroiya(Director NITTTR).
The CNR Rao foundation has constituted a cash prize of Rs. 5000/- for the best student in each semester at IISER Mohali. Mr. Amol Deshmukh received the prize on Aug. 15th 2008 from Director NITTTR.

The Computing Facility of IISER Mohali was inaugurated on 03rd September 2007 by Dr T Ramasami (Secretary, DST). Dr. Ramasami also interacted with IISER students and faculty on the occasion and delivered a colloquium.
