Centre of Excellence at IISER Mohali

A proposal to set up a Centre for Protein Science, Design and Engineering (CPSDE) at IISER Mohali by Professor Guptasarma, Head, Department of Biological Sciences and colleagues has been approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD),Government of India, under its COE-FAST programme.

The CPSDE will carry out cutting-edge research and training in protein science, design and engineering, with particular emphasis on studies that have implications for, and applications in, the health/disease-related and energy/biofuels-related biosciences.

The Center will be funded for a period of four years with a overall budget of about 4 Crore rupees.
